The Center for Multiscale Theory and Simulation (CMTS), headquartered at the University of Chicago, is located in one of the most diverse population centers in the United States of America. Chicago is also home to a wide array of cultural activities, world-renowned museums, one of the largest public school systems in the nation, and a number of public and private universities.

The CMTS is engaged with both this local community, and the national community through a variety of efforts. These have included the training of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars from across the United States in an annual CMTS Summer Workshop, collaboration with the Leadership Alliance program and Morehouse College to provide opportunities for research to minority students at the CMTS, and helping to better train local middle school teachers to instruct their students about chemistry in the classroom. To learn more about these programs, and many others that the CMTS has been engaged in, please visit the separate pages by navigating the clickable image above.
